What is a "S.H.A.P.E. Discovery Session"? 

It is a one hour meeting with a Ministry Consultant designed to help you find a fulfilling place to serve using your unique S.H.A.P.E. and giftedness. We also want to know your needs, so that Southwest can minister to you.

With whom do I meet?

Your S.H.A.P.E. Discovery Session is facilitated by a trained "Ministry Consultant" who will depend on the Holy Spirit to guide your session, as the three of you explore service opportunities and how Southwest can meet your needs. We only allow women to meet with women and men to meet with men.  "Ministry Consultants" are volunteers using their S.H.A.P.E. and giftedness to serve the body of Christ.

Where does session take place?

S.H.A.P.E. Discovery Sessions are held at the church office.

When will I meet with someone?

S.H.A.P.E. Discovery Sessions are offered at various times of the day and week.

What can I expect?

During your S.H.A.P.E. Discovery Session, your Ministry Consultant guided by the Holy Spirit will...

• Meet you in the lobby of the church office
• Open your session in prayer asking the Holy Spirit to guide the two of you.
• Keep everything confidential.
• Review your S.H.A.P.E. profile starting with your experiences and ending with your spiritual gifts.
• Discuss other responsibilities you have in life to see if the time is right for you to serve. We have found over the years people fall into one of four areas:
  
  
  1. Ready to serve:  If you are ready to start serving at Southwest you will be given 2-3 service opportunities that best suit your S.H.A.P.E. to contact and start serving.
  2. Need time to heal or grow:  You will be given contact information on Ministries that can help you in your time/area of need.
  3. Already serving:  You will be reaffirmed that you are serving in the area that best suits your S.H.A.P.E.
  4. Want to start a new ministry:  You will be given information on how to start a new ministry.
• Answer questions you may have.
• The Ministry Consultant will follow-up with you in 30-60-90 days.
• Close the session in prayer.

What can the Ministry Consultant expect from me?

The S.H.A.P.E. Discovery Session takes 1 hour to complete.  Please do your best to be on time.  If you cannot make your appointment, please notify us ASAP by calling ext. 2252.  That way we can try to schedule someone else for that appointment time.  Remember, the Ministry Consultants are volunteers who have set aside time to meet with you.
