Southwest works with local pastors in the Ensenada area to identify families that need housing.

By blessing these families with a house and sharing the love of Christ, we empower the local church to continue the work of Christ on an ongoing basis. The local church invests in the lives of the families by building relationships with them.

Each 12’ x 12’ loft house is assembled, painted and decorated in less than a day by volunteers from Southwest! There is no experience required to travel and this is a family-friendly trip!

“At our home build site, when I saw that young husband and wife and their tiny daughter, and saw that old camper shell lying on the ground that they called their home, it was really shocking. When I went down to Mexico, I had the expectation that God was going to use me and my hammer to do some building and repairs to help out some very needy people. What I didn’t count on, was that God was going to do some much needed repairs on my own heart.”

It was so heartwarming to see the look on our family's face when they were finally able to look and admire at their brand new home! To have seen and experienced how such a meager, by our standards, gift can have such a large impact on someone else's life, was so moving. Having the gift of watching our group's family receive the keys to their very own house was absolutely priceless. I was, and still am, in awe at how humbling the trip was and how much more it has made me appreciate what I have here at home. Being able to serve on trips such as these puts such a passion in your heart that it makes you want to get right back up and do it again.
